Alexander Hill Key is the author of The Incredible Tide in 1970, novel that just inspired Miyazaki to give rise to the story of Future boy Conan although Hayao Miyazaki personalized his story in many ways.
The book doesn't seem to have been translated in French but it is available on Internet.
